You know me. I'm a nice guest. I never complain. No matter what kind of service I get. I'll go into a Hotel and stand at the front of the desk for a long time while the Desk Clerk , busies himself with some books or figures and never bothers to notice me. Sometimes someone arrives after I do and gets taken care of right away, but i don't say a word. If the clerk can't find my reservation or the boss isn't ready, I'm nice about it. When the bellman seems annoyed that I have checked in, I try not to take it personally.
When I go to eat, I'm thoughtful of the other person, If I get a grouchy waiter or waitress who is annoyed because I want to study the menu a bit, I'm polite as can be. I don't believe that rudeness in return is the answer. You might say i wasn't raised that way and it's seldom I ever send anything back to the kitchen. I've found people are just about always disagreeable to me when I do. Life is short. Too short. Too short in indulging in these unpleasant little scrimmages.
I am often too intimidated by the head waiter to complain and when I order a steak medium and it's served almost raw, I never kick. i never criticize. I wouldn't dream of making a scene, as I've seen some people do in public places. I think that's awful. I'm a nice guest and I always give a tip. I'll tell you what else Iam: I'm THE GUEST WHO NEVER COMES BACK.
That's my little revenge for getting pushed around. That's why I take whatever they hand out.....I know I'm not coming back. It's not that this doesn't relieve my feelings right off as much as telling them what I think of them. But it's far more deadly.
In fact, a nice guest like me, multiplied by others of my kind can just about ruin a business and there are a lot of nice people in this world just like me. Together we account for millions of money every year when we get pushed around far enough. We go down the street to another hotel or restaurant. We go places where the staff appreciate nice guests.
He laughs best. They say who laughs last. I laugh when I see them go frantically spending their money on advertising and special promotions to get me back - when they could have kept me in the first place with a few kind words. A SMILE:) AND SOME SIMPLE COURTESY.
SO LONG - I'LL NOT BE SEEING YOU!!!!!!!!!
